Donations Now Part of Safety Program
As part of the safety crew recognition program, the Craft Voice In Safety (CVIS) team has implemented an exciting new twist on recognition. Beginning in March, the crew selected as Safety Crew of the Month will still receive gift cards as they always have but now they will have the option of making a $1,000 donation to the crews local charity of choice.
The March crew of the month, the Port of New Orleans crew, chose to donate to breast cancer awareness through the Cancer Association of Greater New Orleans (CAGNO). CAGNO uses the funds locally for the specific cancer type selected by the group and assists with costs for everything from mammograms to medication to travel costs for those in treatment. Several of the crew members have loved ones or family members touched by this illness and felt strongly about using this opportunity to support those surviving through breast cancer.
